LG Dabbles In Furniture With Colorful Tables That Purify Air & Charge Your Phone

Leave it to furniture brands to design home gadgets, and home gadget brands to design furniture. LG has slipped itself in between names like IKEA and Crate & Barrel by creating a “table-type” device that doubles as an air purifier, among other things.
The South Korean tech firm has announced the PuriCare Objet Collection Aero Furniture, a smart table-shaped product that “blurs the line between beautiful furniture and advanced air purifier.” The gadget promises 360-degree air purification, with an ultra-fine filter, dust collector filter, and deodorization filter ensuring clean air in your living space.
The device is a follow-up to LG’s PuriCare AeroTower, a tall air purifier fan that was unveiled back in June.
The air purification section forms the leg of the Aero, while the tabletop provides some space to display décor, hold objects, or even—wait for it—juice up your gadgets via a built-in wireless charger.
Notably, LG isn’t the first to launch an air-purifier-slash-table. IKEA also has its own version, the STARKVIND, that comes in the form of a side table.
Beyond purifying the air and charging your phone, the table-like electronic also has a mood light function, packing a full array of functionalities to accommodate smaller homes.
In addition, it’s envisioned “with sustainability in mind,” being constructed from materials like reusable plastic obtained from old appliances. LG says the table will also be shipped in reusable materials.
There are three colors—Crème Rose, Crème Yellow or Crème Gray—and round and oval tabletop options. Release dates have yet to be announced, though LG will first present the Aero Furniture in person at IFA 2022 in Berlin, Germany, from September 2–6.
