BMW Wants To Kill Boredom During Waits In Your Car With Video Games

Have you ever zoned out in your car while waiting for it to charge? Well, those days could be far behind you. BMW wants to keep you continuously entertained, and the solution? A video gaming infotainment system. 
 
The company will be teaming up with AirConsole to deliver a new in-car entertainment experience starting in 2023. Over 180 games can be downloaded onto your infotainment system and hooked up to your phone, which you can use as a controller. 
 
This is unlike Tesla’s approach to in-vehicle gaming, where you can bring in your PlayStation or Xbox controllers, or even utilize the steering wheel.

Of course, waiting for your car to charge isn’t the only time you can delve into playing games. BMW notes that it’s basically for any time a driver or a passenger is left waiting. 
 
Unfortunately, there’s no word on which line of its automobiles this will first come to. However, BMW did mention that AirConsole is the perfect match to create content for its curved display, like in the iX series. 
 
And for daredevils thinking they can play a racing game while racing in their cars, safety measures have been implemented to ensure that they cannot run while the vehicle is in motion.
