SpaceX Will Soon Bring Starlink Internet Service To Moving Vehicles

SpaceX harnesses its low-orbit satellites to bring internet connectivity to out-of-reach zones on Earth. Soon, this access will include out-of-reach zones being covered by moving vehicles too.
Yes—come December, RV drivers in a bout of road rage will be able to command the composition of a passionate rant and send it out to the Twitterverse with a simple “send tweet” command. That’s one of countless things they will be able to do when Starlink’s high-speed, in-motion internet service becomes available.
Starlink internet for RVs was launched back in May, but the vehicles had to be parked for the system to work.
The company promises “high-speed, low-latency internet while in-motion,” according to the Starlink website.

“With a wide field of view and enhanced GPS capabilities, the Flat High Performance Starlink can connect to more satellites, allowing for consistent connectivity on the go,” it adds.
Starlink says the RV internet service is “a permanent installation” that’s “resilient in harsh environments.”
With that being said, access isn’t for off-grid drivers on a shoestring budget. Digital Trends reports that the in-motion privileges, which are bundled with a flat high-performance satellite dish, will set users back US$2,500, in addition to a US$135 monthly subscription. In contrast, Starlink internet for parked vehicles starts from US$599.
So, not everyone can tweet as freely as Elon Musk when they’re on the move and find themselves out of cell coverage. Guess we’ll have to air our every thought the old-fashioned way: quietly, and to ourselves.
Starlink for RVs is open for orders, with availability beginning in December 2022.
