Duolingo is broadening its teaching horizons with… *checks notes* Duolingo Math.
After conquering the linguistics world with its easy-to-use interface and engaging examples that had people picking up phrases from languages worldwide, the educational tool is now looking to do the same by making math easy to learn.
For many, math has always been one subject that feels like a chore at the best of times. Addressing this pain point, the app was built primarily to help children gain confidence in the classroom.
However, there is also a section called ‘Brain Training’ corner that hosts more challenging and complex questions to get adults practicing for real-world situations, like calculating tips.
Duolingo Math currently teaches multiplication, division, fractions, area and perimeter, geometry, measurements, and decimals through quickfire questions and minigames to help little ones. All of this will be led by everyone’s favorite green owl, who has been turned into a cube for the math version. Of course, depending on how people take to the new learning tool, the company doesn’t rule, eventually expanding to more complex concepts such as linear algebra or college-level math.
With that said, are you ready to improve your basic arithmetic? If so, the app is available for download today.
