With artificial intelligence making huge strides in art, the world of creativity will never be the same again. With AI, anyone can be an artist—all it takes is a vision and a few keywords.

Picsart is among the latest to jump into the realm of text-to-art creation. Its platform now comes with the Picsart AI Image Generator, which enables anyone to conjure up visionary graphics using a word, phrase, or sentence—in mere seconds, and all for free. For those on a creative stump, the tool provides suggested prompts too.

In no time at all, the generative AI churns out four images based on your description. Those four results will then be added to Picsart’s free-to-edit content library, allowing others to use your creations.

Given that the generator sits alongside other features in Picsart’s editing suite, users can also tweak their AI masterpieces or incorporate them into projects right away, selecting from thousands of tools, stickers, filters, fonts, and other assets.

Picsart is confident the feature will open new windows for productivity and creativity. “Imagine as a business owner you need the perfect image for an ad, but don’t have funds or time to host a custom photoshoot. Maybe you just don’t want to use stock photography for your designs. That’s where generative AI—and practically, our AI Image Generator—comes in handy,” the company shares in a press release.

Most of the AI artworks, including those within the library that are generated by other users, can be used for commercial purposes, as long as the pictures don’t contain any trademark or copyright.

The feature can be located directly within the latest version of the iOS app, through the plus sign at the bottom of the home screen. Picsart is rolling out the tool for iOS users in the US, UK, Canada, and Portugal first, with support for other platforms and markets arriving soon. However, those who wish to start exploring the tool can check it out on Picsart Web, where the AI Image Generator is accessible in English worldwide.

The AI Image Generator is the latest addition to Picsart’s tier of AI-powered functions and features such as robot-made fonts (including a ‘Mikelle from AI Lab’ designed with this writer).
