Forbidden ‘Jar Of Pickles’ Candle Is For Your Eyes & Nose Only

November 14 marks National Pickle Day, and there’s no better way to celebrate the occasion than by buying a jar of pickles and lighting it up.
When we say “jar of pickles,” we mean a candle created by Candier by Ryan Porter and Vlasic. Both companies have come together to make this hyperrealistic jar of gherkins that could sit at home on the grocery store shelves or your coffee table.
The wax is housed in a glass bottle topped with a metal lid and sports a Vlasic logo. The pour captures the gherkin’s dark green and the brine’s light green so well it almost looks as if you could swish it around. And to make it even more realistic, bubbles were injected into the mix.
Of course, a pickle candle wouldn’t be complete without a scent to match. After much trial and error, Vlasic was able to help Candier create a scent almost identical to the real thing so that you can fill your house with the crisp, fresh smell of a freshly-opened jar of gherkins.
Krysten Kauder, the founder of Candier by Ryan Porter, notes that the creation process of the candle was arduous and everything, down to the placement of the vegetable and pouring of the wax, had to be done by hand.
The pickle-slash-candle is sold on Candier by Ryan Porter’s website and retails for US$29, which may be a little more than the real thing, but unlike actual pickles, the smell is sure to linger for hours.
