Roger Federer Designs Unique Mercedes-AMG Car Inspired By Tennis
By Nicole Rodrigues, 10 Nov 2022
Roger Federer is bringing a Mercedes-AMG hybrid car to the center court, bringing a one-of-a-kind vehicle topped off with a tennis-ball-yellow colorway.
The tennis icon has chosen a GT 63 S E Performance to flex his creative fingers on, and the outcome is a sleek exterior in ‘Electric Beam’ to represent his 24-year career and 20 grand slams.
The vehicle also sports his logo to symbolize his legacy.
The coupé houses a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine and a 150kW electric motor that can power the car with 831 horsepower and 1,082 pounds of torque.
Further, as noted by Robb Report, the vehicle can rev up from zero to 62 mph in 124 mph in less than 10 seconds, which only comes second to Federer’s fastest recorded serve at 143 mph, which he accomplished at the Gerry Weber Open in 2010.
A special baller car like this is only being sold through auction via RM Sotheby’s on November 26. It is expected to fetch between US$200,000 and US$250,000.
The GT 63 S E Performance is heading to US dealerships later in the year for fans who miss the auction.
