Amazon Delivers A Drone Capable Of Flying Through Rain To Send Parcels To Doors

Amazon is determined to get its packages to its customers no matter the weather with its latest drone, which is set to be able to fly through wet weather, rain or shine.
The new MK30 drone will be part of the Prime Air fleet, which currently consists of a fleet that can soar at 400 feet above the ground and reach speeds of 50 mph while carrying packages under five pounds to delivery points within a nine-mile radius.
The lighter MK30 will come with updated safety features that allow it to avoid “other aircraft, people, pets, and obstacles.”
The e-commerce giant notes that these upgrades will allow customers to choose drone delivery more often.
In addition to being a sturdy and more robust UAV, it will also be 25% quieter than its siblings. The other models in the lineup are “quieter than a range of sounds you would commonly hear in a typical neighborhood.” As such, the MK30’s improved noise reduction system will prevent it from disturbing the peace of a neighborhood.
Amazon also states that it is testing the efficacy of the MK30 by sending it for rigorous testing under the national aerospace authority’s guidelines. It will be passed through the Federal Aviation Administration before it’s ready to take flight in 2024 in California and Texas.
