Wild Camper Concept Transforms SUVs Into Entire Campsites
By Nicole Rodrigues, 15 Nov 2022
Californian EV startup Alpha Motor Corporation is taking glamping to the next level by placing an entire campsite—including a yurt and guitar for fireside singing—into its Rex SUV.
‘CAMP’ is a conceptual project with a Collaborative Adventure Mobility Platform that reimagines what camping vacations could look like if it provided all the necessities along with its electric SUVs. The company has taken its recently released off-roader, Rex, and attached a teardrop trailer to its back, chock-full of everything would ever need when out in the wilderness. And we mean everything.
Starting with the car, it is an electric all-wheel drive with a distance range of 250 and 275 miles supplied by its dual motor powertrain.
Its trailer houses a large lounge area that can fit a king-sized bed when it’s time to sleep. Outside is a built-in kitchenette where you can host barbecues and huddle around to have dinner with your companions.
That’s not all this EV has in its bag of tricks, as it also comes with a yurt that has removable walls so you can sleep among nature, a roof-mounted tent, a folding picnic table, chairs, solar panels, cooler boxes, and a guitar because no campfire is complete without it.
The concept proposes supplying so many things that it’s hard to list them all. Just know that if this ever makes it to production, you’ll have to worry about taking your keys and nothing else.
The company also worked with Equipt Expedition Outfitters, DMOS Collective, and Rolling Stone Korea when creating CAMP. There is no word if you’ll see this bad boy at your next camping adventure, but it would be handy to have your car come with everything and the kitchen sink, literally.
