Adidas Wants To Let Pigeon Ladies Out This Christmas On ‘Home Alone 2’ Sneakers

Christmas isn’t Christmas without watching Home Alone and its sequel—not the last two movies, thank you very much—at least once during the holiday season. Now, you can do so fully decked out in Adidas shoes inspired by everyone’s favorite festive film.
Home Alone 2 was first released in 1992, and as such, this year would mark its 30th anniversary. Adidas is commemorating the occasion by continuing its tradition of releasing kicks inspired by the franchise with the Home Alone 2 x Adidas Forum Low.
Unlike last year’s design, which looked to the villainous duo, the Wet Bandits, for inspiration, this year’s footwear pays homage to an unsung hero of the movie instead: the pigeon lady. In honor of the character and her kindness, the sneakers come in a gray, white, and maroon motif that takes after her and her birds.
The shoe also features haphazard stitching in reference to her patched-up clothes, and on its strap, it reads the phrase, “As long as we each have our turtle dove.”
The tongue of the sneakers hosts the Home Alone 2 logo, and on the dubrae is the phrase “Hiya Pal!” as said by the Wet Bandits when they eventually catch up to Kevin.
For those who have yet to watch the sequel, Kevin first runs into the pigeon lady when he reaches New York and is initially afraid of her and the birds swarming around her. Eventually, he warms up to her and even goes to her for help.
Adidas is aiming for a December 3 launch for the holidays, and the kicks are estimated to go for US$120.
