Dive Into The Ocean On A Sea Scooter That’s No Bigger Than A Laptop
By Nicole Rodrigues, 29 Nov 2022
The ocean is a vast and wonderous place that may be hard to travel through if you don’t have the lungs and prowess of an Olympic swimmer. However, this little sea scooter may be the perfect diving buddy for amateurs and pros alike.
Produced by Geneinno, a Chinese underwater technology company, the Geneinno S2 is a compact propulsion device that measures 19 inches by 10 inches, making it slightly larger than a MacBook Pro. This means it’ll be the perfect beach toy to chuck into your luggage on vacations or carry in your tote as you hit the sand and surf.
In terms of power, the S2 has a thrust output of 22 pounds and a top speed of 2.7 mph. With that, it can pull you to the depths of the ocean of up to 98 feet. On top of that, you can mount a GoPro to capture your underwater adventures or attach a torch to illuminate the way as you delve deep into the water.
The scooter has an energy-saving chip that provides 45 minutes of uninterrupted fun before recharging. A full charge will take 1.5 hours.
And for wary parents of daredevil kids, there is also a parental mode on its dedicated app, allowing you to control the device remotely.
The S2 is available online for US$359, or about the same price as a one-time diving lesson.
