Playboy Launches Its Very Own Denim Brand So You Can Wear Its Bunny Out
Looks like Playboy is pivoting to fashion in an attempt to extend its legacy as one of the most recognizable brands in the world, beginning with the launch of Playboy Lingerie earlier this month—and now, Playboy Denim.
According to WWD, the lifestyle label’s denim line will be its first solo release offering both men’s and women’s jeans, with the first collection comprising 18 different models in a variety of styles, rises, and washes.
Of course, all of the denim pants come with Playboy’s iconic bunny logo on the back pocket, which Jason Mahler, Vice President of Design at PLBY Group Inc, described as “the merging of two American icons” in Playboy Denim.
Going forward, the brand plans to reimagine its Rabbit Head and Masthead logos into custom rivets, leather jacrons, graphics, patches, and prints as part of the collection for the “modern customer.”
“We have seen strong demand for Playboy branded denim through our licensing collaborations, and we’re excited to launch Playboy’s first owned-and-operated denim line in time for the holiday season,” said President Ashley Kechter, as quoted by Fashion United.
