Coca-Cola Honors World Cup’s Winning Country With Exclusive Gold Trophy Cans

Argentinians can taste the feeling of victory with a drinkable gold trophy in their hands.
As the official sponsor of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, Coca-Cola had the task of developing a series of tributes to the winning team. Among these was commemorative packaging to bottle up the triumph felt by the public.
Klaudia Pac, brand manager for Coca-Cola in Europe, explains that the brief given said to “create the people’s trophy, the object of desire that only champions can hold.”
That feeling of success can be captured with Coca-Cola, which has an irresistible and desirable quality not unlike the sensation of winning, according to Pac.
“And et voilà, this is what our team has delivered. The icon—a beautiful, gold and shiny Coke can,” Pac describes.
Stamped on the deluxe drink packaging is a graphic of the World Cup trophy, along with the script: “FIFA World Cup 2022 Champions.”
The “people’s trophy,” which will hold both classic and Zero Sugar variations, won’t just quench the people’s thirst, but it will also stand as “a keepsake filled with memories of when believing in magic became a reality,” says the brand manager. Pac worked with Coca-Cola design managers Dana Pandelescu and Rafael Florián Corredor to create this can that’s worthy of a spot on trophy cases.
As a toast to the winning country, the Coca-Cola can will only be rolled out in Argentina.
