Apple has revolutionized productivity without buttons. Each time a new iOS generation comes around, it brings new shortcuts to streamline your day-to-day experience, though getting used to them is another thing.
The rollout of iOS 16 was no exception. With the latest update, users can instantly cut out subjects from photos, view their Wi-Fi password, and more.
Apple has released an updated tutorial showing 10 pretty interesting iPhone tips—some of them you might already know, while others are new to iOS 15 and 16. According to MacRumors, the company timed the video’s upload to fall on Christmas Day to help new users get acquainted with their iPhones.
Below are some of our favorite tricks from the video.
Cut out a subject from the background of a photo by long-pressing it.
View your Wi-Fi password by heading to Settings > Wi-Fi, and then tapping on your network’s password to decrypt it with Face ID or Touch ID.
Do you type the same phrases, such as your email address, often? Create a text replacement under Settings > Keyboard > Text Replacement.
You can move or share multiple photos at once by tapping and holding an image, pulling it to another side of the screen, and then using a second finger to drag another photo into the stack.
Translate text in photos by tapping on the ‘Live Text’ feature on the right of an image, and then selecting ‘Translate’.
This tool also appears when you take a picture containing text.
You can scan documents on the iPhone by hopping over to the Notes app, tapping on the camera icon and choosing ‘Scan Documents’.
