Floating Retreat Suspended Between Mountains Lets You Glamp Among The Clouds

Out in the mountain regions of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, campers will be pushed to the limits at a Floating Retreat suspended by two mountains, with nothing below them but an incredible ravine.
The stomach-churning experience is currently in the works by Ardh Architects to showcase the natural wonders of Sharjah and give people an entirely new way to experience the city and its environment. With that, the camping “grounds” also spotlight environmental awareness.
Between the mountains is a platform that not only supports 10 colorful pyramid-shaped pods but also a walkway to take visitors from one point to the other.
The rooms provide headsets, tablets, and Wi-Fi access. Guests can also make use of the modular interior design and switch up the space to fit their needs, whether for work, rest, or exercise.
Each tent is made out of blur fabric on its side to provide privacy, and a transparent material on its front so that those staying can take in the sweeping, majestic views of the mountains.
If being suspended from the mountains is not enough for you, the pods can also be lowered around 330 feet to hang over the ravine. Thankfully, there is a system in place to retract the floating abodes back up when the wind picks up.
According to Robb Report, Ardh Architects has stated that the hotel staff and on-site engineers are trained to handle fires, hazardous winds, stuck pods, and other emergencies to keep their guests safe. For example, if a pod gets trapped, the cables allow it to swing to the mountainside so that employees can retrieve the guests and bring them down to safety.
In other areas, there is a concierge, restaurant, and reception area on the ground floor. And visitors can also participate in cycling, mountain climbing, and hiking.
For the daredevils ready to book a flight to UAE to test the Floating Retreat out, there is currently no word on when it will officially open.
