Pet AI App Diagnoses Health Of Dogs & Cats Through Phone Photos

Are you guilty of keeping rows upon rows of photos of your pet on your phone? If so, it might be time to put them to actual use. One app is being powered by artificial intelligence to diagnose health issues in pets by assessing their pictures.
TTcare, developed by South Korean firm AI for Pet, was named an Innovation Awards Honoree at CES 2023. You upload a photo and it analyzes the image to flag up potential ailments in your pet’s eyes, skin, or joints.
Accordingly, TTcare’s machine-learning models have been trained on “over a million photos,” enabling it to diagnose health issues in dogs and cats with more than 90% accuracy.
If the system does detect something, the app will recommend what to do for preventative care or suggest seeking medical help. For more serious symptoms, it could connect you to a qualified vet for virtual consultations, as well as help you locate a vet in your area.
Beyond diagnoses and consultations, TTcare includes guides for pet care, such as things to look out for in the stool, and provides information on what to do in a health emergency or if a pet goes missing.
There’s also the ability to log your pet’s health, its weight and diet, and vaccination dates, among others.
By offering context to a pet’s health, the app aims to minimize trips to the vet, which may incur extravagant expenses even for smaller ailments. “Now, you can check their health more often and easily and detect abnormal symptoms early,” says AI for Pets.
TTcare is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and it’s free for the first three scans. After this trial, pet owners have the option to get a month’s subscription for US$4.99, or unlock full-year access for US$49.99.
