MSCHF Bottles Up WD-40 Into A Perfume So You Can Smell Handy, Like Grease
By Nicole Rodrigues, 07 Feb 2023

It’s not uncommon for people to enjoy the smell of what would otherwise be considered as repulsive scents, such as markers, gasoline, and WD-40. If you’re one of those people, why not wear the scent proudly with MSCHF’s perfume inspired by the car lubricant?
For those who don’t own a car, WD-40 is a popular brand of grease used to protect nuts and bolts. Those who do use it might be familiar with its vaguely pleasing sweet scent mixed with an undercurrent of oil.

There has also been a running meme that many who use it wished it was perfume or pretended to use it as one. But, of course, you’re not advised to spray the actual WD-40 on your skin.
Instead, why not spritz some of MSCHF’s (safer) version? The ‘Smells Like WD-40’ is advertised as 58% alcohol, 48% fragrance, and 2% water. The cologne is housed in a cylindrical bottle with the same color scheme as the actual lubricant.

The Eau de Industrie, launched on MSCHF’s website, was swiped up by art aficionados and fans of the art collective within 20 minutes. But don’t despair; it’s being resold on secondary websites like eBay.
In other MSCHF news, the collective has just released a pair of ‘Super Normal’ sneakers that look suspicously like Air Force 1’s.
