The Big Mac was US$0.45 (about US$3.94 in 2023) when it first launched. In 2020, it was US$5.99. Today, it’s US$6.05.
With the way things are going, furniture rates should be stacking up like chairs. Surprisingly, even as economic challenges sweep the world, IKEA UAE has consciously kept prices consistent for more than 80 products.
A new print campaign by communications firm INGO The Agency (Hamburg and Stockholm) for Al-Futtaim IKEA reveals that the Swedish furniture giant has maintained the same prices for the LACK television bench, STRANDMON armchair, and SUNDVIK bed frame as from years back.
Inflation, in fact, is making many IKEA items more affordable.
The company says it manages to keep home furnishings wallet-friendly as it devotes attention to “innovative design and engineering, prioritizing sustainable materials, and manufacturing processes, and operating on a low-margin, high-volume business model.”
IKEA reiterates that it’s always been about creating a better everyday life for customers, so keeping prices low is a must.
“As a company, we understand the importance of affordability in today’s economy,” describes Carla Klumpenaar, IKEA’s Al-Futtaim GM Marketing, Communication, HF and Retail Design in UAE, Qatar, Egypt, and Oman, in a press release. “Our goal is to remind consumers that Al-Futtaim IKEA is committed to keeping prices low while still providing well-designed functional products. We want to showcase the efforts we make to ensure that our products remain accessible to everyone.”
The ongoing series, which will add products like the GULLIVER, will be displayed on social media in the UAE and Qatar, as well as in-store, in public areas, and on print editions around Dubai.
