Some of fashion’s fondest eras are seeing a reincarnation. Days after Burberry unveiled a brand refresh—bringing back the classic ‘Equestrian Knight Design’ and departing from its simple sans-serif logo to reconnect with its British roots—Phoebe Philo has confirmed her return to the sphere with an official debut date.
The design superstar, who led as creative director of Céline (now Celine) from 2008 to 2018 and Chloé from 2001 to 2006, announced that her eponymous fashion house will launch in September 2023 on a newly-created Instagram account for the label.
Philo is remembered for her minimalist yet surreal vision, and she spearheaded a taste for sophisticated, tailored clothing that prioritized effortless elegance and comfort. Fan accounts like Phoebe Philo Archive and Old Celine extolling her work are still very much alive today.

The British fashion designer first divulged that she’d be starting her own brand back in June 2021, with LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton holding a minority stake. However, its expected launch date was January last year, causing a spiral when the time came and there was still no news.
The Phoebe Philo label’s first and only post on Instagram expresses the statement: “Our inaugural collection will be revealed and available on our website, phoebephilo.com, in September 2023.”
The site remains out of bounds for now, but that should change in a few months. The fashion brand says it will open for registration this July.
