Ferrari & Montblanc Design High-Performing Fountain Pen That Adapts To Its User

Montblanc and Ferrari are two powerhouses in their own respective industries, with both constantly delivering era-defining products. So when the two converge for a joint project, one can only expect absolute luxury in terms of design and performance.
The Stilema SP3 fountain pen is drawn from the Ferrari Daytona SP3 (pictured below), which sports a V12 mid-engine and a curvy, dynamic body crafted through rigorous wind tunnel testing for top-class aerodynamics.
The pen itself may not need any aerodynamic properties, but it does host the same inspired slats from the car’s front and rear bumpers that have been translated into lined accents.
At the end of the pen rests an eye-catching red blade meant to look as though it is always illuminated. Accordingly, it took months to find a suitable material to portray this illusion for the nib. The blade can also slide back to reveal the barrel Montblanc designed specifically for the Stilema.
If you’re wondering how it feels when used, the pen houses a malleable Au 750 solid white gold nib that can adjust to a user’s mannerisms and writing style. For the body, Montblanc has used titanium to keep it light for long stints of drawing or writing.
Ultimately, the Stilema SP3 is envisioned as a high-performance piece of art that supports its user by adapting to them and provides an incredibly smooth experience to keep thoughts uninterrupted. Think of it as the sports car of the fountain pen world.
And just like the high-end sports car makes, it has a price tag to match. The Stilema SP3 costs US$27,500 and can only be bought through special arrangements.
