Guinness Pints Gather Round To Harmonize In ‘Responsible Drinking’ Ad

Guinness is holding out for a hero, and the hero in question is a responsible drinker who won’t be getting behind the wheel this St Patrick’s Day.
The new video spot targets the brand’s Guinness 0.0 no-alcohol drink. The Make it a St. Patrick’s Day To Remember campaign encourages party-goers to indulge in some zero-alcohol pints during the festivities.
The video sees a chorus of stouts, each with a face poking out of the foam, singing along to Bonnie Tyler’s Holding Out For A Hero. It’s a melodic reminder that if you find yourself on top of a table belting out to the tune at the night’s end, you might not be in the right state to drive home.
According to LBB Online, Alan McAleenan, brand director for Guinness Ireland, mentions that this is the biggest responsible drinking campaign that the company has undertaken.
Advertising agency AMV BBDO worked with the beverage company to create the spot. And to further encourage fans of Guinness to try out its 0.0 offering, it is giving away 50,000 free stouts across Ireland. These locations include Dublin Airport, Aviva Stadium, and other Dublin, Galway, Cork, and Belfast bars.
