Dubai’s Museum Of The Future Reimagines Its Distinct Architecture Using AI Art

As the Museum of the Future recently welcomed its millionth visitor just a year after it opened its doors, the Dubai-based site took to Instagram to feature several images of its iconic architecture if it were interpreted by artificial intelligence.

The original design, created by Killa Design architects and engineered by Buro Happold, bears a unique, circular shape to serve as a contrast to the numerous highrise towers that dominate the city’s skyline.

Embossed on the façade are quotes from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum in the calligraphy of Mattar bin Lahej. Overall, the circular structure represents humanity, while the green mound atop it points to the Earth.

In the reimagined designs, the first image conjured by the AI generator incorporates several planets into the mix that makes the building look as if it’s floating in space in the company of other celestial bodies.

The second recreation goes in a different direction, seemingly heavily inspired by the ocean with the exterior painted in a blue hue and a huge whale sitting in the middle of the structure.

In addition, the third image features plants emerging from the ground to wrap around the museum, with a bird flying in the background as the building shows itself literally tied to the Earth.

Last but not least, the fourth picture reimagines the circular museum as a ring-like shape with sharp, smooth edges. Its base is littered with pyramid-like structures in fuchsia pink.

While not all architects would be welcoming of AI reinterpretations, it isn’t surprising that the museum has embraced it. After all, as it said, the site “confidently straddles the past and the future, applying advanced technology to traditional art forms.”
