Balenciaga’s ‘Destroyed’ Jeans & Jacket Will Make You Look Shredded, In A Way

Are you tired of clean-cut, tailored silhouettes? Try the antithesis of them: stained, oversized, and extremely tattered co-ords. For a package price of US$5,600, you won’t have to rip these up yourself.
Balenciaga (well, who else could it be?) is retailing denim pieces that look like they’ve been neglected at the dry cleaners and tossed out in the dumpster, and subsequently chewed up by a dog who’s decided to bring them home as a gift to its owner. The garments live up to their name—they’re ‘Super Destroyed’, making one more distressed than they already might be with the way things are going in the world.
The ready-to-wear jacket and trousers, first teased in an even more dire state at Balenciaga’s Summer 2023 ‘The Mud Show’, are unisex and constructed from Japanese denim. The apparel is also “heavily destroyed” on purpose and sports a “dirty effect,” as stated in Balenciaga’s descriptions.
They’re also sold separately, so you can complement each one with a neater piece from your wardrobe to appear more put-together.

The oversized jacket, priced at US$3,150, is the dirtier of the two, and is hence more expensive. It includes two “slash pockets,” plus two functioning ones on the chest.

Meanwhile, the dusty jeans are going for US$2,450, and they’re dramatically shredded at the back so you can leave a lingering impression when you walk out of the room. The black version is sold on Balenciaga.com, while a blue colorway—with even more visible dirt—retails on Bergdorf Goodman (via Boing Boing).

But we’re sure you could craft your own, uh, ripoffs without breaking the bank.
