Vaseline Turns Sunrises & Sunsets Into Warning Signs To Slather Protection On
In sunny Thailand, locals are well-attuned to the climate and know to take care of their skin with sunscreen. What’s less known is that the sun’s rays can be equally harmful throughout the day, even during the “gentler” hours.
According to Vaseline Thailand, only 14.3% of Thais know that daylight can also be damaging to the skin at sunrise and sunset. A new campaign by advertising agency Ogilvy Singapore is flipping things around.
The firm has created a series of posters with imagery depicting the sun at 6–8 a.m. and 4–6 p.m., when its rays are perceived to be at their tamest, and turned the photos around, portraying the hot star and its glare as an exclamation point.
Recapturing the sun at its early and late hours as warning signs, Vaseline reminds the public that it’s still possible to develop sunburns or even skin cancer as long as there’s sunshine.
