NEOM, The Group Behind 106-Mile Vertical Desert City, Soars Into Air Travel

Saudi Arabia is shaping to be a travel haven in the next 10 years, with a multitude of ambitious architectural projects on the horizon. One such standout venture is NEOM, a futuristic megacity that will transform the Kingdom’s deserts into ski resorts, oases, and a 106-mile-long vertical city called The LINE.
 
With so many planned travelers inbound to the country, NEOM is about to kick off its airlines to aid in easing the load of estimated visitors.
 
According to Simple Flying, the carrier’s chief executive Klaus Goersch details the plans for the project in a blog post. NEOM Airlines and the airport are said to stay in line with the destination they will serve by focusing on a high-tech and sustainable travel experience. It is planned to serve up large screens for entertainment, 6G WiFi for gaming, and biometric check-ins.
 
Goersch notes that food will be ethically sourced for flights, and sustainability will also reach the catering sector. 
 
The idea behind this is to deliver a luxurious experience to all types of travelers as an extension of NEOM itself.
 
NEOM Bay Airport (NUM) is currently open for use with flights around the Kingdom domestically as well as routes to London and Dubai. The carrier is set to be ready for the fourth quarter of 2024.
