ChatGPT-Powered Earbuds Place Its Assistive Powers Right In Your Ears
With ChatGPT infiltrating just about every avenue available, it was only a matter of time before it ended up in our ears.
China-based Ikko, a company specializing in audio technology, is squeezing the artificially intelligent system into a new form factor allowing users to take it anywhere.
While the ‘ActiveBuds’ function like ordinary earphones by playing music and receiving calls, they offer something extra by enabling AI support. The ChatGPT integration is referred to as a “personal ear secretary” that takes care of all the tedious tasks as you go about your day.
You can ask just about anything, such as simple questions and professional inquiries, take notes at a meeting or class, and even have it jot down your thoughts while thinking out loud. Though, if you’re living in Italy, it might not come in handy as the country has just banned the use of the chatbot.
The earbuds come in a case with a 1.8-inch AMOLED screen where you can control everything from your music choice to translating languages for you in real time. Yes, that’s right, its features don’t stop there.
The ActiveBuds can also capture conversations in multiple languages and translate them for you. So the days of whipping out Google Translate might be far behind you. In terms of music quality, it has a personalized EQ setting and active noise cancellation.
If you’re looking for a workout assistant, it can also track all your health indexes and update you on your stats, whether you’re out running, cycling, or even mountaineering.
On top of this, it has its own independent 4G and Wi-Fi connectivity, which it accesses through a SIM card, so you won’t have to use a phone to control it. Lastly, the buds have six hours of battery life and an additional 30 hours provided by its case.
