Marvel Unveils Fitness App That Enlists Superheroes As Your Personal Trainers

As we inch closer to the middle of the year, it may be time to get back to the fitness resolutions set at the beginning. Soon, runners will be able to tap into the powers of Marvel’s famed superheroes to fuel these grueling workouts.
In a collaboration with the makers of the popular Zombies, Run! fitness app, Six to Start, Marvel recently unveiled its latest venture outside of comic books and film—dubbed Marvel Move—that will see Thor, Wolverine, and Hulk take up the job of personal trainers.
The audio-based program works as select superheroes yell into one’s ear on the run, complete with motivational quotes and immersive routines, of which users can pick from five distinct storylines.
Thor & Loki: Asgard 5K Training will see the aforementioned Nordic heroes guide users on 24 fully-voiced workouts over the course of eight weeks. By the end of the program, users have completed an entire training regiment to run a five-kilometer (three-mile) race.
Prefer working with Wolverine or Storm? X-Men: Age of ORCHIS is the second option available, where listeners embark on an adventure alongside the X-Men crew in Krakoa to defeat the mutantkind.
Those looking for a more exciting route can try The Hulk: Hulkville, which guides runners as they go on the run from authorities with Bruce and Betty Banner while attempting to hide the conspicuous Hulk from the rest of the world.
Daredevil: Terminal Degree will engage athletes as part of law students at a prestigious university, in which they meet with the titled superhero and assist him in bringing down dangerous criminals involved in the underworld.
Last but not least is Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch: In Dreams, a program that acts as a guided tour for runners to escape an unknown location with the help of Doctor Strange and the Scarlet Witch.
According to the company, these workouts are suitable for runners of all levels—with settings allowing for users to walk, jog, run, or even track their activity while moving along in a wheelchair. There are options to slow down or intensify the workout as one sees fit.
Ready to get moving? Marvel Move will be available on iOS and Android devices this summer, as well as on Six to Start’s own ZRX application, set to launch soon. The entire program will cost US$74.99 per year.
