LEGO Celebrates Disney’s 100th With Picture Frame Of Over 70 Character Options
By Mikelle Leow, 28 Apr 2023
A House of Mouse built on bricks is here. This year marks Disney’s 100th anniversary, and to celebrate, LEGO is rolling out all kinds of builds that carry a centenary of magic from the screen to your home.
Got a favorite Disney character, or 12? You can show all of them off at once with a hugely customizable LEGO collage commemorating 100 years of Disney animation icons. The picture frame features a grid of 12 8x8 plates that let you fix and swap around portrayals of favorites such as Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Chip and Dale, Dumbo, Ariel, Jasmine, Snow White, Tiana, and even Scrooge McDuck.
The 1,022-piece set consists of an assortment of tiles serving as the bare neccessities to dream up your own Disney magic on an 11 x 12.5-inch wide mosaic. Those who’d like a little guidance can refer to the instruction booklet, which shows them how to put together 72 Disney-themed designs.
Although this colorful wall art is reminiscent of LEGO’s other DIY builds for adults, like its space-themed plastic postcard set, it’s simple enough to create for Disney fans as young as six years old. Kids can also go on a little adventure while they work on their collages on the LEGO Builder app, which allows them to zoom into and rotate models in 3D, as well as track their progress.
Now, what’s the House of Mouse without The Mouse? The box includes a minifigure of Mickey in a painter’s overalls, with a miniature paintbrush and palette.
In line with both LEGO and Disney’s ethos to embrace your imagination, the pieces can be added to similar sets to make your builds uniquely yours.
The 100 Years of Disney Animation Icons set will be available at select stores and on LEGO.com from June 1, for a price of US$59.99.
