Tamagotchi Takes ‘Harry Potter’ Creatures To Your Care With Fantastic Beast Pets

Don’t have a magical suitcase that can carry all sorts of mythical creatures on one trip? Bandai Namco does you one better—by gathering a whole ecosystem of fantastic beasts into a pocket-sized gadget.
Teaming up with Warner Bros, the toymaker is launching Harry Potter Tamagotchi Nano toys that let you interact with creatures from the lore, even if you haven’t received your Hogwarts admission letter or attended a single Care of Magical Creatures lesson.
Through the nostalgic egg-shaped toy, Potterheads can feed and pet magical creatures and fantastic beasts at their fingertips, as well as care for them by playing four different mini-games like Catch Gold, Deliver of Letter, Fly Hippogriff, and Picking a Lock.
Your game behavior determines which of the 11 kinds of Wizarding World pets will cross your path. Neglect them, and they’ll potentially run away.
The Tamagotchi Nanos arrive in two gaming modes: Harry Potter, where caregivers spend three hours at Hogwarts Castle; and Fantastic Beasts, where they spend three hours in a magical suitcase. Not only that, but characters like Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Newt Scamander, and more might pop in too.
The virtual pet toys arrive in two collectible shell designs—‘Magical Creatures’ and ‘Hogwarts Castle’.
The devices will officially launch on July 18, but fans can start pre-ordering them on Amazon.
