‘Luck Of The Draw’ Gives King Charles An Inconceivably Different Life With AI
By Mikelle Leow, 09 May 2023
Most folks aren’t born into an inheritance of riches and worship. For some, there are no resources to hold on to at all.
As the world watched the crowning of King Charles III, George Walker, a creative technologist at London-based Rehab Agency, reflected on what life could be like for the same face on the other side of the coin. Thanks to artificial intelligence, he was able to explore this concept freely.
Luck of the Draw, generated with the help of Midjourney, conveys how some may be “winning the lottery at birth,” as some Twitter users have described, while others are destined to acquire the burdens of reality, like homelessness.

In an alternate world, rags could be riches, and vice versa.
The best use of Midjourney I have seen. Entitled “The Luck of the Draw” it could never be shot for real, requires the tech not to save time/money but to visualise the impossible - via @georgefatlion pic.twitter.com/jigTdWMKdk

The stirring images, presenting a photorealistic scenario that’s nearly impossible to grasp, have struck a chord with audiences.

“This, to me, is great art. Thought-provoking,” commends one person. “The tools used are irrelevant.”
Walker, who goes by the alias Fatlion, also creates non-fungible tokens. You can follow him on Twitter here, and view his generative artworks here.
