Pepsi Releases Limited-Edition ‘Cat Cans’ To Celebrate The Love Of Felines

Two months ago, Pepsi celebrated its milestone 125th anniversary with a brand-new logo and global visual identity, bringing together an eye-catching typeface, refreshed color palette, and “energetic pulse” motif to mark a new era.
If those designs weren’t special enough, fans will soon be able to get their hands on a limited-edition illustrated version of the beverage’s unmistakable blue and black cans, dubbed Cat Cans.
This special release is to commemorate the number of cat owners surpassing that of dog owners in China for those between ages 20 and 30 who live with a furry friend. Much like the rest of the internet, the country is smitten with felines.
To cement its position as a brand that “stays tapped into youth culture,” PepsiCo Design & Innovation Center has come up with exclusively-designed cans that bear adorable drawings of these cuddly creatures.
Featuring bold colors, playful illustrations, and bubbly typography, the cans depict adorable cats in a variety of relatable poses, including them snacking, gaming, or jamming out to music. This marks the first time the brand has added an animal to its cans in China.
Those looking to purchase the special-edition beverage can do so only on e-commerce platforms in the country, such as on Pepsi Beverage Tmall Flagship Store and Tmall Supermarket, for a limited time only.
