Inflatable Motorized Boat Can Be Tucked Away In Your Backpack
By Nicole Rodrigues, 29 May 2023
Are you looking for a new way to traverse the open waters? The GoBoat 2.0 is here to add a little zest (and practicality) to your next trip to the beach.
What might look like a circular floating platform is a motorized personal watercraft that can zip across the ocean at five mph on a trolling motor. The inflatable boat utilizes a proprietary ‘AirCore’ composite that allows its riders to seamlessly drift over choppy waves and other obstacles out at sea.
It comes with a detachable seat—which you can place on the sand once back on shore to top up your tan when you’re done—and a non-slip foam deck to easily stand, walk around, and even fish on top of it. It’s described as a powered boat, paddle board, and kayak rolled into one.
In the event of an accident, multiple safety measures will be put in place to give you a sense of ease. The first is the inflatable seat that can act as a raft if the central portion of the GoBoat starts to lose air. Its motor can also easily be turned off via an ankle lanyard.
The GoBoat has cooler storage to keep your drinks and catch of the day chilled while in the sun. It weighs 57 lbs and 37 lbs for the kid’s model. When you’re ready to head home, it can be folded to fit into a backpack or into your trunk, which essentially means that owning a personal boat like a kayak is now no longer a hassle, nor does it mean that you have to worry about where to keep it as the GoBoat can easily be stored in your store room or even in a cupboard.
The kid’s model begins at US$683, and the adult version goes for US$1,076, both can be ordered online.
