Apple Users Can Now Send Out ‘Contact Posters’ When They Call Their Friends

Remember when you had a personalized ringtone for all your friends in your Nokia cellphone? That experience is being revived and elevated on the iPhone, with a new feature called ‘Contact Posters’.
Apple has been making it easier for users to express themselves through their mobile devices, beginning with customizable lock screens. Now, it is letting you flaunt your style to other iPhone owners with editable, visually striking contact cards—or “posters”—in the new iOS 17, which was unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on Monday.
Your Contact Poster shows up on a person’s iPhone when you call them. And first impressions count, so you can curate how you’ll present to others by choosing the photo, typography, and font colors to adorn your card.
You could even use a Memoji instead of a photo.
The tech giant says Contact Posters are another way users can express their individuality. Plus, you’ll control the narrative, as the same visual will appear across your communications with others, even on third-party calling apps.
Contact Posters, alongside the other iOS 17 features, will first be released in the developer beta software, before moving into public beta next month and finally going live in the fall.
