Gucci Unveils Figurines Clothed In Outfits From Its Archival Collections
By Nicole Rodrigues, 08 Jun 2023
Gucci has joined forces again with Chinese pop figurine brand IP Marsper to introduce a fresh collection of themed dolls.
These four exclusive figures flaunt iconic Gucci designs, including the renowned double G motifs, velvet fabric, and stripes. The range draws inspiration from four distinct archival looks of the fashion house. Based on the available photos, the ensembles feature a red velvet suit from Tom Ford’s 1996 collection and a double-breasted pinstripe suit. The remaining two outfits originate from Alessandro Michele’s 2015 Gucci Men’s Fall Collection, highlighting a red flowy blouse and a double G monogrammed cloak.
The figurines, which are only 11 inches tall, represent the artistic spirit of the current Gucci Cosmos exhibit in Shanghai. The show will be on until June 25.
An online lottery will be organized to ensure equal opportunities for fans to acquire these figurines, and will launch on Gucci’s WeChat Mini Program on June 9.
Gucci and IP Marsper previously collaborated in 2021, with a collection of figures dressed in the fashion label’s Aria collection. Marsper, established in 2020, has also partnered with various artists and brands, such as Sprite and CASETiFY.
