Transport For London Rolls Out Vibrant Retro Posters Highlighting Safe Travels

To remind passengers of its commitment to maintaining safe travel for all, Transport for London (TfL) recently launched a refreshed Public Transport Safety campaign, created in partnership with creative agency VCCP.
Featuring vibrant primary colors, the posters hope to cut through the clutter of noise in busy train stations in order to raise awareness of the potential risks that could be lurking on one’s everyday commute.
While nearly everyone is familiar with the “mind the gap” messaging that’s become synonymous with TfL, accidents can still happen on the go, especially with travelers distracted, cruising on autopilot, or just exhausted from a day’s work.
To inspire confidence in safe traveling, the agency tapped illustrator Andrew Hudson for the project, who opted for bold, 3D typography throughout the campaign’s collaterals. These will run across out-of-home, digital, social media, and internal communications platforms.
“We’ve created the campaign to communicate how customers should travel safely as part of TfL’s commitment to keeping passengers safe. To do this effectively, we have made sure that the creative is positive, easy to understand and digest,” said VCCP Creative Director Simon Learman.
“It’s imperative that everyone who uses the transport network receives the information they need for their journey, whether they are new to the network or seasoned travelers,” he added.
