Anyone who’s been on the internet in the past month would’ve seen the hype surrounding two upcoming films: Barbie and Oppenheimer. The kick? Both movies are scheduled to premiere in theaters on the same date: July 21, 2023.
Naturally, there’s been discourse on which film fans were choosing to see first, made all the more humorous by the fact that the plots of the two movies are in such contrast to each other. Want to see Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling play house or a thriller about the man behind the atomic bomb?
In reality, there’s no need to choose. Many have echoed the fact that they’ll be tuning in to both movies—both of which are expected to be hits—despite the stark differences between the two. And that duality has now gone viral in the form of a t-shirt.
According to Highsnobiety, the idea first began when Twitter user @NotoraEnt created a render of a half-and-half garment bearing both the Barbie and Oppenheimer logos, one side colored in bright pink with the other in moody gray.
Twitter user@tentwentysixpm then showed off a real-life production of a similar-looking idea, before the original creator stepped in and decided to offer up the t-shirt for fans to purchase off her personal website.
In case you were thinking of snagging one for yourself, they sold out immediately. Fingers crossed, a re-release will be in the works in the near future.
