AI-Produced News Site Even Uses Bot-Generated Images, To Beyond Hilarious Effect
Artificial intelligence’s takeover of everyday life has sparked fears that it may replace journalists and penetrate the web with fake news. Already, there are several websites floating around that are run by robots—and those have only been caught because they unintentionally publish error messages like, “I cannot complete this prompt.”
Well, here’s another clear sign the news site you’re looking at comes from a synthetic source: Look at its “photos”—do the people in them have strange teeth and extra limbs?
One website called The Enlightened Mindset, claiming to be “Exploring the World of Knowledge and Understanding,” appears to have it all, from articles teaching you “how to be shorter in height naturally” to “how to watch Barbie movies,” and even a rundown on “what are fashion colors for hair?”. What it lacks, it seems, are human-made imagery. How can you tell, you ask? Good question. Take a look.

AI art generators, as it seems, still can’t figure out how to spell, or how text works. The site, discovered by one Twitter user (via Futurism), features countless examples of images with copy that doesn’t make sense.

Besides displaying unnatural-looking photos, the site also showcases created-on-demand headers reading “BUSNESS STARP” and “THE O NATBAATIVEB.”
“Wold he pronwon?” one image appears to read. Another depicts the performance-enhancing drug, “VIIGIAGIA.”
