Ever wondered what it would be like to live in a Wes Anderson film? Well, with countless TikTok videos attempting to recreate the famed director’s whimsical aesthetic in real life, there’s now an opportunity for fans to take a literal step into the latest Asteroid City movie.
Set in the fictional American desert town in 1955, Asteroid City is now on display at London’s 180 Studios, featuring a showcase that will transport fans into the sci-fi town through interactive installations.
Previously, the director had put sets, props, sketches, costumes, and miniatures from The French Dispatch on display, and this time is no different. Visitors can look forward to immersing themselves in Asteroid City’s artworks and set designs, including the iconic telephone box.
Pastel-hued vending machines line the walls, similar to how residents of the quirky town would stop for snacks, cigarettes, or ammunition in the movie. There’s even a replica of the 50s diner that one can dine in, serving up everything from milkshakes to pancakes and cherry pie.
Fans looking to bring home a souvenir can get their hands on exclusive limited-edition merchandise at the venue, including t-shirts, totes, screenplays, pin badges, companion books, and even an Asteroid City vinyl.
“Delve into the incredible creative world of Wes Anderson with this immersive 180 exhibition that transports you into the realm of the director’s new film, Asteroid City,” the exhibition’s website wrote. The showcase will run till July 8, 2023. Head here for ticketing details.
