The fashion world has gone from never seeing a Crocs boot step into the real world to having two released within the same week. If you missed the first one, Crocs and Huckberry have gone out west with cowboy boot Crocs (croots, if you will), and now the famed foam clog company is knocking on art collective MSCHF’s door for its next foray into the world of wildly unnecessary shoes.
Introducing the Big Yellow Boot, a take on MSCHF’s highly popularized Big Red Boot that took the internet by storm in February this year. The original pair resembled a pair of shoes that looked like they came straight out of an anime like Astro Boy. They were large, imposing, and bulbous, for lack of a better word.
Now, the cartoonish footwear is back, this time in a shocking yellow with an added touch by Crocs. The boot’s tall rubber shaft follows the same as the Big Red Boot, but its base looks like an enlarged version of Crocs’ clog, along with its famous holes and even its strap, which is permanently fitted to the back of the footwear in Sports Mode.
The shoes first popped up on rapper Tommy Cash at Rick Owens’ Spring/Summer 2024 Men’s Paris Fashion Week.
Its appearance at the fashion show was just a little teaser into a potential release of the shoes, but for now, there are no details on when daring fashionistas will be able to add these bad boys to their collection. The previous pair were retailing for US$350 a pop if that was anything to go on.
