Alexander McQueen Debuts Egg-Shaped Candles, Each From A Different Perfumer

While Alexander McQueen has never been one to launch its own fragrances, it appears the luxury British label has decided to dip its toe into the pool of home décor—by way of its first-ever candle collection.
The series, which features three scents of Ghost Flower, Pagan Rose, and Savage Bloom, is said to be inspired by the “juxtaposition between light and darkness, innovation and tradition, and strength and fragility,” all synonymous with the McQueen aesthetic.
Interestingly, each of the dark, egg-shaped candles was designed by different perfumers, with the brand deciding not to tap on just a single fragrance maestro for the entire collection. The different scents can be differentiated by either a silver, dark, or gold metal lid.
First, Ghost Flower mixes the freshness of freesia and peony with the earthy smell of patchouli, while Pagan Rose features the “tension” between fragile wild rose and peat. Last but not least, Savage Bloom offers a whiff of tuberose and oud.
Naturally, such opulent candles come with a not-so-affordable price tag. Each candle, which will come in a glass protected by a mycelium shell and packaged in a wooden crate, will retail at US$395. Head here for more details.
