After Meta Debuts Threads, Mark Zuckerberg Goes On Twitter To Slight Elon Musk

Meta is confident it can fill the gaps that Twitter has struggled to occupy, so much so that—with the bird app still vying to soar above financial loss—Mark Zuckerberg’s company has launched a lookalike rival.
On Thursday morning, Meta launched ‘Threads’, a direct opponent to Twitter, as evidenced by its almost identical interface and functionality. The app is linked to Meta’s ecosystem, allowing users to seamlessly join as members by syncing their Instagram accounts with the new sibling.
The grand debut has prompted Zuckerberg to send out his first tweet in over a decade, seemingly to tease Twitter’s Elon Musk.
Soon after Threads went live, Zuck shared a textless post featuring a meme of two Spider-Men pointing their fingers at each other. Clearly, he doesn’t deny the similarities between both social networks.

Zuckerberg’s tweet arrives not long after Musk openly challenged him to a cage fight.
“What is the fight name going to be?” UFC fighter Mike Davis questions Zuckerberg on Threads. To which, the Meta CEO simply replies with a laughing emoji.
The Meta boss has been rather active on Threads, answering questions about his favorite Marvel movie and saying hi to early users.
“Oh my god, we’re back again,” joke the Backstreet Boys. “This made my day,” says Zuckerberg.
The Meta chief has also shared some good news on the new app, detailing that Threads surpassed five million signups within four hours of its launch.

“There should be a public conversations app with one billion-plus people on it,” he recently mentioned. “Twitter has had the opportunity to do this but hasn’t nailed it. Hopefully, we will.”
