Prada Puts Its Best Face Forward With New Line Of Makeup & Skincare
By Nicole Rodrigues, 01 Aug 2023
Prada is venturing into the beauty world with a new skincare and makeup collection set to debut on August 1 on its official website. The Prada Beauty range will feature an array of essentials, including eyeshadows, lipsticks, foundations, serums, creams, and cleansers.
In 2000, Prada first entered the beauty industry with the launch of its skincare line. The line featured a range of high-end skincare products formulated with a thoughtful combination of rare plant extracts and innovative Adapto.gn Smart Technology to protect the skin from external aggressors.
With Prada Beauty, Lynsey Alexander, Prada’s Global Creative Makeup Artist and brand ambassador, played a significant role in creating the range behind the scenes. 3D and e-makeup artist Ines Alpha joins as another brand ambassador, adding her unique touch to the range.
In true Prada fashion, the collection adopts unexpected shades, like aubergine, aqua blue, and hot pink, for its eye palettes. In developing the range, the beauty team had access to Prada’s vault of 27,000 fabrics and prints. According to WWD, Alexander was sent samples ranging from Saffiano leather, nylon swatches, and prints from the label’s archive.
This helped inspire the line and ensured a diverse array of finishes and textures, from richly-pigmented mattes to metallic foils that tie in with the clothes and accessories of the main brand.
