It’s no secret foldable smartphones have taken over the market, with Samsung recently teaming up with Thom Browne to release a special Galaxy Z Fold5 perfect for black-tie events.
In the same vein, Chinese phone maker Honor has unveiled the Honor V Purse—its take on a foldable concept that can be toted around like a handbag.
Perhaps this intriguing design, which allows for straps and chains to be attached to the device, could usher in a new era of smartphones doubling up as fashion accessories.
Users would be able to unfold the gadget to reveal two screens, which are attached by a concealed hinge.
Reminiscent of regular handbags, these slideshows could include elements such as charm-filled chains, varying fabrics, and even feathers that could move in sync with the smartphone.
Speaking to Dezeen, an Honor spokesperson explained that the Honor V Purse was a “new, unique, and revolutionary concept” from the brand.
Dubbing it the “smartphone of the future,” the company seems confident the conceptual device would be able to merge the worlds of fashion and technology, making it the new “it” bag of the future.
