PANTONE has named its first 2024 colors, poised to grace next year’s Spring/Summer fits. Coinciding with New York Fashion Week (NYFW), the color authority’s trend forecast takes a deep dive into multi-faceted colors that echo people’s yearning for authenticity and meaningful expression. A blend of vibrant shades, nature-inspired tones, and timeless core heritage colors converge, delivering a powerful and welcoming message for the warmer months.
The resulting palette exudes nostalgia while embracing transformation and positivity. These colors speak to a newfound sense of freedom, igniting our creative potential as we reimagine the future, according to PANTONE’s experts. With personal self-expression at its core, this fashion season invites style-seekers to embrace joy and comfort through the vibrant language of color.
10 notable shades on the Spring 2024 runway include ‘Rooibos Tea’, a rich, full-bodied red with woody undertones; ‘Watercress’, a lively green with a peppery presence; ‘Pastel Lilac’, a soft lavender that is said to nearly evoke sweet aromas; and ‘Capri’, a vivid blue evoking the azure waters of the Mediterranean grotto.

Anchoring this lively spectrum are five versatile neutrals like ‘Mushroom’; an earthy taupe blending temperature and tone; ‘Quiet Shade’, a comforting yet shadowy gray; and ‘Brush’, a utilitarian khaki.

According to Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the PANTONE Color Institute, these colors for NYFW Spring 2024 are an invitation to unleash creativity and get in touch with one’s artistic side.
“Colors for NYFW Spring 2024 inspire feelings of release. Opening the imagination and amplifying and liberating our own unique artistic spirit, they enable us to express ourselves in more inventive ways,” Eiseman expresses.
