Nike fans continue to be buoyed the brand’s experimental styles and colorways after all these years. Its latest unveiling takes innovation to new depths, quite literally.
The sportswear giant has constructed a basketball arena in Slovenia. Its location? The pristine Lake Bled, the inspiration for the new Luka Doncic Jordans.
Over the weekend, the Jordan brand, along with basketball shop Grosbasket, hosted a three-on-three tournament on the floating structure. Players weren’t walking on Air but on water.
The scenic lake was the perfect backdrop to unveil the namesake sneakers, a collaboration with Slovenian basketball star Luka Doncic.
The Luka 2 ‘Lake Bled’ footwear, sporting an icy-blue palette, pays homage to the natural gem as well as Doncic’s home country, “the first nation to be named a ‘Green Destination of the World’ in its entirety,” says Nike.

True to their natural influences, the sneakers—cushioned for impact and built in with 360-degree support—are constructed with at least 20% recycled materials. They’re priced at US$140, and are now available to buy at Nike retailers and online.
