Hugo Boss Enlists Sophia The Robot To Grace Its Fall/Winter 2023 Runway

For Fall/Winter 2023, Hugo Boss recently introduced its Techtopia-themed runway show, featuring cutting-edge technology, a nod to the future of corporate style, and a notable guest star, Sophia the Robot.

Sophia, the lifelike humanoid developed by Hanson Robotics, made a striking entrance into the fashion world during the event. Since her activation in 2016, Sophia has garnered attention for its uncanny human-like qualities, and this occasion marked its foray into the fashion industry.

During the show, not one but three versions of Sophia graced the stage, each with a unique role. One confidently walked the runway, another interacted with guests, and a third took the form of a conversational bust. Adorned in BOSS’ distinctive business-ready uniforms, Sophia seamlessly blended with the event’s futuristic vibe.

Hugo Boss’ Techtopia-themed presentation transported attendees into a visionary future, complete with a robotic universe rooted in technological innovation. A striking feature of the event was the presence of glass installations housing mechanical humans who played automated roles, ranging from dinner guests to doctors and even a yoga demonstrator.

To encapsulate the essence of Techtopia, the event combined cyber aesthetics with neon lighting, creating an ambiance that felt transported from a distant future. Guests were seated along “lab tables” with screens as the models strutted down the runway.

The main highlight of the evening, of course, was BOSS’ Fall/Winter 2023 collection, where the Techtopia theme took center stage. The collection drew inspiration from the concept of “CorpCore,” blending futuristic set designs with office attire to herald a new future where the corporate world is infusing machines at a lightning pace.
