Honda hasintroduced its first all-electric SUV: the 2024 Honda Prologue.
Expected to offer an impressive range of around 300 miles on a single charge, this vehicle could be a viable option for those looking to go the distance on electric power.
One of the standout features of the Prologue is its ability to support DC fast charging. In fact, the car recharges an estimated 65 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
In terms of aesthetics, the SUV features a neo-rugged design concept that gives it a distinctive appearance.
With a low and wide stance, sleek silhouette, and 21-inch wheels (the largest ever offered on a Honda), this vehicle is set to make a visual statement on the road.
Drivers can choose from a series of eye-catching exterior colors, including the exclusive North Shore Pearl—a new hue inspired by the beauty of Lake Tahoe, California.
Past the doors, the Prologue offers a spacious and comfortable cabin, boasting the longest wheelbase in its class, so passengers have ample room to lounge.
The automaker set out to create a user-friendly interior with large buttons and knobs, adding a clever two-tiered center console with a larger storage capacity for longer road trips.
In another interesting first for the brand, the vehicle will debut the brand’s newly-designed name badge, featuring a chic typeface that depicts its “modern and clean design.”
Drivers can enjoy two high-definition digital screens, including an 11-inch digital driver instrumentation display and an intuitive 11.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple and Android compatibility.
For those who appreciate a premium audio experience, opt for the car’s Touring and Elite models, which come with a Bose premium audio system featuring a staggering 12 speakers.
Performance-wise, the two-wheel drive models are powered by a front-mounted single motor, while the Elite trim features standard all-wheel drive with dual motors.
There’s even Active Sound Control to enhance the driving experience by creating a seamless acceleration feel through sound feedback linked to acceleration and deceleration.
The Sport mode takes things up a notch, offering quicker throttle and steering response, firmer steering, increased braking power, and other enhancements.
“The arrival of the all-new Honda Prologue is a pivotal moment for the brand as Honda begins the transition to our zero-emissions future,” said Lance Woelfer, assistant vice president of Honda National Auto Sales at American Honda Motor.
“Prologue is aptly named as our first volume Honda EV, a stylish, sporty, and spacious SUV that will take us toward our vision of 100% zero-emissions vehicle sales by 2040.”
