Starbucks’ pumpkin spice latte (PSL) devotees might say that taking a sip of the autumnal drink is like getting a hug. Well, you get what you wish for. To mark the 20th anniversary of the cult-favorite beverage, the coffee chain is unleashing a varsity jacket to wrap you in pumpkin spice-inspired warmth. Fans can also bear their love for PSLs on their skin with temporary tattoos.
Since its debut on October 10, 2003, the PSL from Starbucks has become ubiquitous with the arrival of fall. Inspired by the menu item’s cozy comfort, the company has joined forces with KidSuper—a creative collective led by Brooklyn-based artist Colm Dillane—to craft a limited-edition Team PSL Varsity Jacket that combines vibrant design elements with autumnal hues.

As seen in the images above, the nostalgic wear sports rusty leaves on its sleeves. Sprinkled throughout the piece are the Starbucks and KidSuper brandings, splashed across a colorway you can almost taste. The back features the initials ‘PSL’, along with the embroidered text, “A Little Spice is Always Nice.”
As it’s how the drink makes you feel on the inside that counts, the garment’s liner features Dillane’s distinctive handwriting and illustrations, including phrases like “Worth the Wait!,” “PSL is Love,” and “Happy Fall” as a lovely tribute to PSL drinkers.

“Partnering with Starbucks to design a jacket was an awesome experience… I was able to infuse my creative vision into a wearable piece of art, while capturing the essence of Fall and the PSL,” comments Dillane. “I’m excited for fans of the drink to check it out!”
As part of the celebration, Starbucks customers in the US and Canada who order a PSL—whether hot, ice, or blended—on October 10 (PSL’s official 20th birthday) will receive a sheet of themed temporary tattoos, giving them a chance to look spice-y this PSL-drinking season.

And since taking a whiff of your PSL might bring back memories, Starbucks has also concocted a playlist of hit songs from 2003, hitting patrons in the senses and transporting them back to the year the drink made its debut and potentially changed their lives. Those on the move can also have a sip of this experience as Starbucks has made the playlist available on Spotify.
As for the KidSuper Studios + Starbucks Team PSL Varsity Jacket, fans can pre-order the limited-edition outerwear on the KidSuper website from 8 a.m. PT (11 a.m. ET) on October 10.
