Jack In The Box Lurks Into Horror With Haunting ‘Feeding Time’ Short Film
By Nicole Rodrigues, 16 Oct 2023
Jack in the Box has stepped into the realm of horror, presenting its first-ever short film, Feeding Time. This eerie creation serves as a vehicle to announce the return of Monster Tacos and unveil a fresh addition to the menu: Angry Monster Tacos.
Collaborating with TBWA\Chiat\Day LA, this cinematic venture is just one facet of a campaign for the Halloween season.
Set against the backdrop of Halloween night, Feeding Time unfolds a tale of two young trick-or-treaters who find their candy pilfered by three masked adolescents. What ensues is a chase led by a Free Angry Monster Tacos truck, its eerie music and concealed monstrous tentacles setting a spine-tingling tone. Amid the unfolding drama, Jack in the Box’s mascot makes a cameo appearance, culminating in the truck apprehending the teenagers and generously offering them free tacos alongside their pilfered sweets.
Behind the scenes, this horror short boasts the talent of Hollywood writers who have left their mark on popular shows and films, including American Horror Story: 1984, Servant, and the Saw franchise. The directorial reins were in the hands of Marcus Dunstan, and it served as a platform for film crew members who had been impacted by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike.
Audiences can view the short film and associated content across channels and streaming platforms such as Hulu, YouTube, Paramount, and Twitch. The short film will also find its place on Jack in the Box’s YouTube channel and its official social media platforms.
On top of that, an Angry Monster Truck featured in the short film will cruise the streets of Los Angeles on October 21. Fans of the fast food joint can also rent the truck for their own parties via Resy, starting October 24.
