Louis Vuitton is raising the bar for luxury accessories with a ‘Millionaire’ bag most people wouldn’t be able to afford.
The Millionaire Speedy, introduced during the debut show of new men’s creative director Pharrell Williams during Paris Fashion Week, lives up to its name. You’ll need to fork out seven digits for it.
While fashionistas have previously known the million-dollar bag to be swathed in yellow, those with access have now learned that it will also arrive in rouge (red), vert (green), bleu (blue), and marron (brown). Basketball star PJ Tucker has snuck a screenshot of the Millionaire Speedy listing, giving us plebeians a glimpse of the duffle bag that isn’t meant to be.

All five colorways appear in the Louis Vuitton Men’s Spring/Summer 2024 campaign starring Rihanna.
Regular customers are locked out of the product page, which is stated to be “for internal use only.” As it seems, the option is exclusive to friends and family, and VIPs.
The usual Speedy bag, which you can purchase for as low as US$1,490, seems like a bargain in comparison. After all, that’s three digits knocked off the price tag.
The reason for the dramatic markup lies in the materials. While the common person’s Speedy is crafted from coated canvas, the millionaire’s model, made to order, uses soft crocodile leather. Its gold chain is encrusted with real diamonds. Clients are also given a pair of Millionaire Sunglasses with the bag, bringing its worth to a cool, cool $1,000,000.
For additional context, you could totally purchase a mansion for a million dollars or less. Given the money, would you use it to put a roof over your head or create one for your keys and lipsticks? Decisions, decisions.
Interestingly, Williams was inspired by counterfeit bags he’d seen on Manhattan’s Canal Street when crafting the new Speedys. He told GQ that he wanted to mirror the bold primary colors peddled on the streets, but with “leather so soft” their form melted in your arm.
While the Millionaire Speedy is strictly for millionaires and billionaires only, Louis Vuitton has made the rare concession of giving the public access to its Millionaire Sunglasses—for US$890.
